Hi schensted,

Welcome!

Very nice Trek you have there :)

For the Europeans among us it will be something new to see, as Trek's of that era aren't common in Euroland. Very classy! Miss that with the current ones. Suntour is awesome kit btw.

Elev12K--thanks for the compliments. She's been a labor of love. Bought her new in 1983 and have been tinkering with her ever since. The only original part is the SR seatpost, although I've tried to stay more or less period-correct. You're right, the early Treks made in Waterloo, Wisconsin were classy bikes.

Very nice, however the positioning of the front mech looks incorrect if you want to use the big ring.

I agree about SunTour - very underrated kit, especially the Cyclone and Superbe ranges.

Roadking.

Thanks. In the photo it does look like the front mech won't reach the top ring. However, it shifts perfectly. While on the top ring there is just enough clearance.

I've always loved SunTour. For my next project I'd like to build a road bike with a complete Superbe gruppo.

Suntour Superbe pedals - probably the best looking pedals in the world.

The rest of the bike's very good too of course.

Mark.
