1982 Raleigh Competion (reynolds 531, Campag GS Nuovo)

I recently got this off ebay. It needed a good clean up, a few new decals, new chain/sprocket/tyres/tubes/cables/pads/pedals and alot of autosol.

I've done quite a few hundred miles on it in a short space if time and it is so silky smooth. Its my first 531 after having a couple of 501 raleighs.

Frame: reynolds 531 25" double butted tubes & taper guage stays, vitus forged ends, haden royal sovereign lugs. 74 degree parallel. Colour polar blue.

Fork: reynolds 531 taper guage with vagner italien oval crown with vitus forged ends

Headset: black (unknown)
Stem: SR apex forged alloy (original)
Handlebar: engraved itallienne (original)
Bar Tape: deda brown leather

Brake Levers: weinman 605 (original) with cane creek hoods

Update, i've polished the rest of the bling, fitted black schwalbe tyres, refitted the original brown leather saddle.

I'm thinking of selling it due to having too many bikes, whats it worth seeing that its all original apart from bartapes, wheels/tyres, hoods and pedals. Its been fully serviced. There has been some touch-up done on a few areas of the frame, which would rub off easy if someone preferred more patina! I know it'd be worth alot if i broke it but i'd rather leave it together.

Yes i sold it a few months ago, i think i got £350 for it? Really nice bike, i done alot of miles on it, and glad to see it go to a good owner whose keeping it in 1 piece.
