Thinking of selling my fixie to fund a new bike! I built this up at the end of Summer and i have only used it on a few rides
Its a 57cm Peugeot Frame, made of Carbolite Tubing. Dating it with Decals and Headtube sticker, it seems to be the 1982 model. You could further check this with the stamped cerial number which i can provide if needed before purchase!
The frame was an Ebay purchase. When i brought it, it seemed to be in excellent condition. The original parts: Crankset, Seatpost, Handlebars(small amount of scratching on one side) and Brake Levers all seemed to be in excellent condition. I kept all of this, and built the rest of the bike up with brand new parts.
Its running SSC Workhorse Wheels, aswell as SSC 18T Fixed Sprocket and 17T Freewheel. Saddle is a Charge Spoon, Bar Tape is brown Deda Elementi and Tyres are Michelin Dynamic Classic 700x23c. The previous owner had a new BB installed and new modern brake calipers too! Finally, im running some race style pedals with toe straps. Basically, i've kept the bike as original as possible, but installed new parts where needed, to make the bike faster and safer and more comfortable! Gearing is 52x 17Free/18Fixed which is perfect for the Isle of Wight (very hilly) it fly's along the cycle track but it doesn't run out of top speed too easily and still climbs very well
The bike is in a 9/10 Condition. Only a few small scratches. Nothing needs replacing and everything is running smooth (even the original headset!)...
I dont really know how much the bike is worth. Im more of a MTB'er but built this up as a Summer Project due to having lots of time off school. On the few rides i've took it out on, it performed perfectly. I think it's done less than 150miles since building. It would make a perfect commuter / get around bike, as its very fast , reliable and maintenance free. Going with that, i'm looking for around £350+ Postage... I may look at sensible offers.
