Sold the Motobecane and some other bits to build up my Peugeot PX10.
Took a bit of time on this one:
Frame/ forks: Reynolds 531 (french decals)
Cranks: Campag Mirage 175mm 53/42
Wheels: Campag Mirage hubs with Mavic MA2 rims
R/D: Campag Record 1991 -ish
F/D: Suntour BL (to be replaced at some point)
Shifters: Campag Xenon Ergo 9spd
Cinelli stem/ bars
and my favourite parts:
Brakes: Campag C.Record Delta.
Pearlescent finsh laquer with a further polyeurathane vanish to give it that aged look.
First ride? Horrible - frame had been in my mate's lock up up down in Exeter for some 15 years. lots of surface rust, shagged Simplex parts and a 'dead' steel frame.
Couple of harsh rides stomping uphill, frame suddenly came alive and has been improving ever since.
While I was down in Exeter, down by the quay, there was an earlier 70's PX-10 with a similar 9spd upgrade to modern stuff.
