I was just showing that pic to someone a while back. I am hoping this new BB I have will let the Cyclotourists fit. There's a lot less meat on those to trim back. Otherwise I can use a deerhead or something.

i think the 72 on the head tube is just a lug number showing the angle not a frame number..

I guess that confirms its in that 1982-83 range with no actual serial number.

I am quite pleased with it. Its a survivor that I can actually ride and enjoy and I really wanted a handmade bike from the early years of MTBs.

Hopefully it rolls next week

So I came up a 2mm short on the fork I wanted to use. Thus the long delay.

Anyway ... I got another

Judging by the parts it’s a late 1987 or early 1988. The craftsmanship is Eriksen’s usual amazing.

It doesn’t need much. I’m going to touch up the paint, overhaul it with cables, pads, etc., give it a full XT730 group, and change change the cranks, post, and saddle.

Both should be rolling by the end of the month.
