1980's Shimano Uniglide Hub Plastic Dust Cap!

I realise I made a mistake trying to remove the plastic dust cap when servicing hub bearings on my 80's uniglide hub.

It broke into several pieces,of course!

Soooo....can replacements be sourced anywhere or will I have to make a replacement myself from aluminium or even brass, maybe?

I have no real idea what a uniglide dust cap looks like BUT I think SJS cycles might :D

I have tried a few of the vintage spare parts sites including SJS,but all I get is a sharp intake of breath at the request and a nah!,mate!

I will make one up myself...

What does it look like, must have one amongst the crap.

It is the plastic dust cap which fits inside the cassette hub covering the bearing race on the drive side.

In the below link it can be seen in place in the Uniglide hub.It is the very dark green/blackish plastic dust cap through which the spindle passes.

pic of one here but with a larger opening for the spindle,

I made a mistake trying to remove it as the bearings can be serviced with it in place. If you do find one in an old hub I'm not sure how you would remove it without breaking it as I did mine.

If you have one though that would be fantastic!

If so, I think I might have one somewhere ...

No,not that one.The one in this link, though in place it is very non descript,

It is the flat plain plastic cap passing through which the spindle with wheel nut can be seen on the Uniglide hub.

Pic of one here but with a larger opening,
