Was it built for 26x1 1/4" wheels? Or have I missed something which is entirely possible.
I have a 26x1 1/4" pair of weinmanns, happy to post a wheel for you to try. Rear has a 7 speed Sachs hub in it so probably won't go in. The front could be used as a gauge? Let me know mate. Edit can't see it being built for 26x1 3/8" or 559 though, who knows.26" is all I was told .
How would that affect b/b height with 559?I'd end up owing you kidney at this rate {mine are not really worth much} !
After Woz set the brain wheels whirring it occurs that the lesser of all the weevils would be to go 559 , that way the tyre and rim problems go away. As things stand I'm prepared to go with 700's put on the Record side pulls and wait for some 450b's.
They can be bought new now for a trifling £100 each ! I suspect they can be bought cheaper from the Orient ???????
I think Center pull ones are a bit shorter. It's only just occurred to me that the centre pull and canti bosses must be different ,
26x1 1/4" is 597 26x1 3/8" is 590584 - 559 = 25
So drop the bb height by about 12 mm , a deal of which could be recovered in the tyre .
I'd prefer 165mm cranks too .......
and an Apache helicopter , ....
Yes depends where the fittings are brazed on as to how much drop you get.And dump the yoke part of the caliper ?
No just remove the bolt. And dump the yoke part of the caliper ?
Just waiting for Bob to come and beat me up now...Ta Kermit .
