I know most of you don't care for American road steel but I thought I would post anyway.

1979 Richard Sachs

Frame is in great shape for a 30+ year old bike. I believe that the paint and decals are original. There are quite a few scratches in the paint, but no dings or dents on the bikes. There is almost no rust except around the cable guilds. Bike was originally built for country cycles in New Rochelle NY in 1979. The only thing the bike is missing is hoods for the brakes.

Sachs is one of the great American builders and learned his trade in the UK with Witcomb Cycles in the '70s.

He's doing much to preserve the hand made tradition, including creating his own lugs (which I've used in a couple of frame builds) and producing custom steel tubing from Columbus, in conjunction with Dario Pegoretti
