1972 Colnago Super Pantagrafata Road Bike

We just picked this bike up last week from the original owner. He was the manager of the former Denver Spoke Bike Shop in the 70's. It was raced for one season, hung up and ridden a couple times since. It has been in storage for the last 40 years.

Only about 35 Super Pantagrafatas were imported in the US which was Colnago's show bike that year.

With exception of tires and tape all parts are original, including the pump. It even has the original Regina Oro chain (brass plated). In near perfect condition.

We are looking for NOS original brake hoods to round this bike out and it will be a show piece here in our museum.

Equipped with a 5 Speed Campagnolo Nuovo Record Drivetrain.

Very nice!
Just drop that stem a bit before you put it on display.
I guess it doesn't matter now but I wouldn't have wanted to ride far without the circlip on the front mech.

Those pics look familiar......... seem to remember someone commenting a few years ago that the rear brake blocks were the wrong way round

Are they really? Are you sure it was this bike.... this one has been in the owners garage for the last 30 years and then hanging in Vecchios here in Boulder for the last 10 or so.

Superbe bike with some lovely patina! Don't clean it up any further, in my opinion!

Would be nice if you could find some used campagnolo brake hoods that have some signs of time too. Would look a bit strange to put new and unused hoods on this bike! Always liked that more than brand new ones...

I couldn't agree more Flandria. Patina is way sexier than new.

can you get light blue foot straps and bar ends ?

not personally,
but if you search alfredo binda toe straps you may find and benotto (or 3ttt if stem bars are) for the shade of bar ends you want, these usually come with the ribbons
