Thanks Keith. I'll be taking some pics of the bike in a bit I took the lamp to bits as I have some spare parts. Anyway I can clean up the mirrored metal without damaging it, it appears to be plated. I was thinking of using scratch remover on the plastic. I've been apprehensive with these parts

The lamp reflector was silver plated. The brake levers do not look anything like Raleigh. It is easy to solder the brake cables, but more difficult on an old cable. The chainwheel cover is the wrong way up.

The rims are stainless steel, you will notice that the spokes from the inside of the flanges face opposite directions. All professional wheelbuilders did this as it is the easiest and fastest method. A factory time for lacing a wheel would be around 2.5 minutes.

Looking closely at the superbe in the 1962 catalogue the brake levers do look matching.

Hoping to seal up the lamp after getting the parts cleaned. Using rubber seals and silicone grease. As for the hole where the wire goes I thought of possibly using a cross slit valve and attach it inside the lamp... not sure if it's a good idea but it's an idea..

The Bulb in the front is a Crys 6v .5A frosted? it has a funky pattern on the glass which I appreciate. I'ts been in the lamp since before I even bought it (4 years ago). Im not sure what the specs are on the bulbs for this particular setup. I bought a FSU which came with lamps (HF-62 F.S.U) It's spec'd 6V .2A for the head and 6V .04A for the tail. The Tail light I cant seem to open, I figure its plastic end is screwed on but damn its stuck on there.

I guess it doesnt matter if the FSU battery pack isnt original to the bike? Or is it the same model FSU that would have been on it?
It was noticeably dimmer after installing the FSU though as its previous wiring setup was more direct. The 3 D cells were pretty poor at powering the lights as well.
Perhaps I can do some work on this to make the wiring and light setup more efficient. Perhaps a LED insert would be better?

(P.S sorry for the rapid fire questions im a pretty hyperactive individual that over anlysis everything)

So the front lamp has cleaned up pretty well. It's still cloudy and yellowed and the tail light... I don't know how I'm gonna get this apart
