1959 (I think) Holdsworth Hurricane

Hi all,

So I’ve been a member on the MTB side of the site for ages and know enough to get by about 90’s MTB! However. My Father in law recently gave me his old Holdsworth Hurricane and I am starting a project to restore to as much of it’s former glory as I can.

I’ve attached some pics but from the serial number I think its’s a ‘59 (he can’t remember exactly but said late ‘50s). Frame is decent! Those aren’t holes in the BB shell, just paint missing.

The BB was in surprisingly good nick and I think I can revive the seatpost and the chainring/cranks. The other components however are doomed.

I do have a question about the headset. Anyone hazard a guess as to what they used and what I need to look for if I need a replacement?

I’ll post pics on here of the refurb and the build as I go. Also don’t worry, the frame was very loosely held in the workstand
