1956 Flying Scot barn find.

What a great bike!

I could've been built as a touring bike with mudguard eyes and cantilever brakes. Looks like that could be a rear rack braze-on and has it got a front light bracket braze-on, on the front forks?

What excellent winter's projects!
 
Hi Mydadscondor. Yes has got braze-on eyelets on the seat stays and a lamp bracket boss on the forks. Two cool projects on the go at the mo.
 
Unlikely to be a cross bike with pump pegs under the top tube. No good for shouldering the bike! More likely a 'tourer'.
 
Few updates with polish ground into fingers :D Thinking blue cloth tape on the handlebars and shellac. Thoughts anyone?

Williams AB 77 cranks with TA 44-40T chainrings. Were a pig to get off but all cleaned and Williams bottom bracket was in fantastic condition.
