1955 Claud Butler, New All Rounder

Stripped down and mild T-Cut, just polish and wax rather than full respray I think. It’s not as bright as original paint which can be seen in places but ok.

I agree with this one but not always the case, I had a sun that had been sanded and hand painted in Dulux Gloss White, that had to be resprayed.

New headset bearings, new to me GB stem and Maes bars. I have proofrided the saddle as much as I can but will probably have to replace it.

Now, a bit off yet but cloth bar tape or these? I think that they would suit.

Little bit more work tonight;
GB Arret levers to replace the Weinmanns that were on it.
Refit the GB Hindium Sports callipers that we’re on it. Will need adjusting because I have replaced the 700C wheels that were on it for 27”.
The Bayliss Wiley BB was fine so refitted with new balls.
Double Stronglight crankset that was on it refitted, the inner ring just misses the frame so it stays.
The 27” wheels have weinmann rims on Normandy High Flange hubs, they replace the 700C tubs that were on it. I don’t understand tubs and the bearings were shot too.
The GB stem replaces the chrome steel one that was on it that was too long.
GB Maes bars replace the Stratalite Madison ones that I will use on another bike.
I am not trying for how it would have been sold so will refit some of the upgrades the previous owner had fitted.

Stripping down the loose pedals, Raleigh.
Everything looks in good order so grease up and refit.
