1954 FH Grubb Restoration

DRMOON

Retro Newbie
Hi,

Just embarking on restoring my Dad's 1954 FH Grubb, frame number 5217. Has anybody had any luck trying to find original factory build sheets showing original colours and components etc.

Dave

Oops, yes welcome to the forum.
If you don't have parts, 1970s parts, look fairly sympathetic and don't cost a fortune.
If you want period parts, be prepared to wait for the right parts and they will come with a heftier price tag.

Barber's Pole seat tube paint. Very '60's I recall. Mercian used the design a lot I think, never seen a Grubb with it before.

They are not easy to reproduce. I'd say Mercian Cycles probably your best bet, if they are still painting third party frames that is.
