Dirt Disciple
I am the worlds biggest Donohue fan and have been riding his bikes for years. I have now taken to restoring them and bought this one for parts for my 531 millennium. I have for sale the leftovers.
**updates, points added, bits corrected and photos can be seen at http://kmf.mikewoodmountain.co.uk/#5.0 , the moral to the story is dont cock about at work just do it when you get home. The photos are on the above link so that I could get bigger images for you to see*
Frame: SOLD The frame is a small 18inch 531 millennium frame. This was a set of frametubes made by Reynolds that as far as I am aware (Donohue too) was only used by Paul Donohue. The metal composition is changed so that it is possible to weld the tubes instead o braze them. The seat and chainstays are custom shaped by Paul and the rear dropout are stainless steel, again custom made. Donohue tells me that this is one of the first few millennium frames he made.
I ride one of these frames and they are astonishing, smooth and fast. Also Paul tells me that the 531's rarely come up for sale. It took me 18 months to find my example.
The frame is in need of a respray but rather than do it I have left it as I got it and will send it with (original) Donohue decals. You will need to copy the millennium badge though as this is so rare even Paul doesn't have any.
