Wanted 18"/medium frame/bike for someone 5'8" and advice

Frame size is the vital starting point, but if you're developing back problems, it would be well worth your while getting some advice on a good bike setup for your height, fitness and use.

A lot of "bike fit" salespeople are full of you-know-what but if you have a long- standing shop in the vicinity who deal with touring and commuting, i'd suggest you drop in for a chat,
even offer to pay for an advice session if you're not buying anything off them.

It will be money well spent, believe me. 👍

Consider the cost of your commute on public transport.
Add to that gym membership, or a weekly physio session!🤣
Thanks, there is somewhere I can do that nearby. I've found a 1994 17" Alpina 5.3 nearby that looks in good condition.

I've got this Kona fire mountain doing nothing at the moment. It's currently frame only but I have enough parts to build it up in various ways ranging from LX 3x9 to xt 3x9 and more (sram x9/x0 etc).

It's in pretty decent shape, it does have some scuffs and scrapes to the lacquer but no dents, rings etc, pretty presentable.

That looks cool! I've currently got both a new bike and frame on the way! I do have a pal who may be interested, how much would it be for a base level build etc.?
