18" 1993 Kona kilauea frame & extras

Dirt Disciple
Time has come to sell my trusty kilauea frame which has served me well as a single speed and London commuter for the last 1.5 years. It's an 18" 1993 model that could do with a little tender loving care and a respray to bring it back to full glory. Although it does have the odd scratch, cable rub and patches of surface rust. There are no dents or anything more substantial than cosmetic paint damage. It has a year old Kooka aheadset and probably the original bottom bracket fitted, this is currently wobbely and stuck and will require heating or more force than my LBS is willing to give it to remove it.

included in the sale will be:
Kona project 2 ahead forks 410mm axle to crown 190mm steerer. black on frame in photos.
Kona project 2 threaded forks 390mm a-c 143 steerer (original to frame)
Kona project 2 threaded forks 410mm a-c 163 steerer (probably from large 94 frame)
velocity stem 130mm 5 degree 1993 (original)
velocity stem 120mm 5 degree probably later
impact headset one of the bearings is toast but the races are all good
XT thumbies
LX cantis
XT front mech
SS7 levers
suguno 175mm cranks. unsure of the condition of the square taper bit
seatpost unsure of size or make but red anodised.
seatpost shim
36 tooth fornt chainring
18 tooth rear sprocket
sram pc1 chain
Kona foam grips

£150 all in collected from SW london. £10 for postage.

Any questions just ask

Did make an offer but then noticed the stuck BB bit. Too much effort for me.

Shame. Always fancied a Kilauea.

You'd get that out with a little bit of time and effort - go for it.
Fill the BB shell with Plus-Gas (or even diesel) and leave it for a few days to penetrate. then with BB tool held in a vice and a little bit of heat from a blowtorch on the BB shell it'll move, I reckon.

PS - isn't the seatpost USE ?

Kona Kilauea

Hi

What is the best you can do for just the frame and the original matching Kona Project 2 threaded forks posted?

You'd better watch that - it sets a precedent for later life...

If you sold the frame and forks as asked I would consider taking the rest of the stuff off your hands if the price was right.

If it makes it more tempting. When i had this built up as a singlespeed with fairly standard parts, nothing too exotic. It weighed in at just a smidge over 20lbs with considerable room for improvement.
