Just a thought but it might help to post a little bit more detail.
e.g. what's the horizontal distance from centre of seat tube to centre of stem/headset ? What are the hubs on it ?

The frame, forks & wheels were carefully chosen to compliment each other so I'm not prepared to split and don't want to post so it doesn't get trashed in transit.
The sensible thing is for me to keep it...

Good stuff, you know it makes sense. I've had this dilemma plenty of times...saying that if this had been 18 inch I would have snaffled it ages ago
