My 28 holes 1.8 alloy nipples wheels are still going strong.
They are lighter than 2.0 DB (i.e. 2.0/1.8, which should be obvious)

I bought some DT alloy nipples a year ago (bike shop in Hunstanton, catchy name, lovely bikes).
