prankster are you having a laugh? do you want me to show you countless web pages of different coloured bike parts that all sell at the same price regardless of colour?

anyways its all good, i prefer salsa liplocks, every colour is exactly the same price ;)

or i might buy a hope one, as every colour is the same price, hmm decisions decisions,

its all good, you charge what you like i genuinely thought you had made a mistake was all, clearly not, is it limited edition or something,i didnt mean to comment and good luck with the sale

Ok, do you see if you do the things all right is more easy? thanks for the information, I'm going to correct the prices.

Regards.

What´s the problem with the prices he had? Isn´t any rule about that???? You are more than free to buy or not, and if you feel that is to expensive seems more polite a pm. At least in Spain, would be cheaper 25€ for the clamp than the ebay one, if you add taxes would be about 35-40€ at home, but don´t think that´s the main thing.
For sure you wouldn´t like this comments in your sale threads...

Dear Trip, as stated i thought he had made a mistake which was the reason for my initial post.

but as you have asked, i will provide a response..

you see when you buy direct from the manufacturer you get a guarantee and warranty, this does not exist when they have passed to a third party.

none of his items come with a guarantee, so in my eyes are of less value than the original retail price, which by the way also includes mark ups to cover there business running costs, but anyways.

I have bought many items brand new, found i did not have a need then sold them on at a price to reflect the fact that they do not come with a guarentee at a loss to myself.

I geinuinely thought honest to goodness that the fact that he was selling second hand items with no guarantee for more or for the same price than they can be bought for in the uk was a mistake

It just isnt cricket

I was also trying to be helpful if he wished to sell items, the first thing i do if interested in buying something is to find out the retail price, and if i can buy it cheaper retail with guarentee, then i do that, its a no brainer.

for example if i wated to buy some Ritchey bars i would buy them from JE James a reputable business for £15, rather than prankster for £26 , perhaps things are different in Spain and you like to pay more for second hand items with no guarantee than you do for brand new direct from the retailer ones.

no offence was meant and I'm happy to delete this post, the reason as i understand it why comments on threads regarding prices, are not approved of is that value is subjective, this subjectivity i feel is removed when there is a known retail price in the current market place as the item is brand new.

I really was trying to be helpful you know

its the reason why most people add the caveat " let me know if im way off with prices"

in my initial post i asked for his best price when i thought he had made a mistake, it was genuine interest in buying the clamp you see.
then when he said that is my best price i tried ever so helpfully to point out that what he was charging was more than what they could be bought for brand new, anyways,

as for pranksters postage costs i hardly think they enter into the equation

Does there need to be a rule stating that you shouldn't try to flog stuff for more than you can buy it new in the shops? Seems to be common sense and one step from ripping people off!

Sure Charlie's initial post was meant to be helpful - should someone have bought the clamp for more than it's actual retail value then they're likely to feel aggrieved when they found out, which would reflect badly on prankster (and this forum) when they found out. Or more likely he just wouldn't have sold it at all.

Unfortunately he chose to react by being arsey instead of taking the advice on board and possibly selling it for a fair price.

Reckon this is my last post on here, I'll leave you to it!
