100mm travel forks on a 1996 GT Zaskar?

Can someone tell me if it is ok to put 100mm forks on a 1996 GT Zaskar?

Probably be ok for general trail riding but 80mm would be better. Depends on the axle-to-crown measurement of the 100mm fork. I've got a 100mm Z1 on a '98 Zaskar and it handles ok, looking for an 80mm Z2 to try though.
