10 speed set up

I am building a 29r and want a single front chairing with 10 speed rear
What equipment would people go for please,I am not up to date with the latest mtb gear

I'm running an X9 mech and shifter, Sram PC 1051 chain, SLX 11-36 cassette with a 34 tooth Hope chainring. I have been using a Blackspire C4 chain device but have just bought an E13 LG1 Trail device which will be fitted for the weekend.

No issues so fat and I can just about climb up most things. There are times when I miss having a granny ring like on long climbs so sometimes end up pushing. I'm not too fussed though as I hate climbing!

so you have converted a standard chainset to single ring ? are chain devices really needed ?

Just running a normal Race Face Atlas crankset with the Hope ring which works with 10 speed set ups. Some people say you don't need a chain device, I'm not so sure. The new clutch mechs may mean you can get away without one. If you don't want to run a full on dh style device, you could just run a top mounted one that replaces the front lech.
