hey all

after a good quality 1" threaded headset, really after a king but why?

I'm after the same thing, but a few people have said to me that the King is a bit of a pain - you can't use cable hangers, and nothing is the same size as a normal threaded headset. There are some (non-Bling) Stronglight headsets on eBay UK right now at what look like very fair prices.

OK, I gave up and brough a King 2-Nut (gets around the cable hanger issue) for Aspire Velotech in the US. £70 shipped to my door with no taxes.

You sure about the no tax bit Simon?

I bought two Ringle stems from a shop in the states recently and they sent them to me as "a gift"....and I still got stung. Coupla weeks later an invoice appeared on my doormat asking for money!

If you're not paying any tax it looks like a cracking deal.

I've never had an invoice after recieving a package. Items from Aspire get delivered with a declared value of about $10 and marked as 'bicycle bearings'.
