1" steerer internal dimensions, help please

Hi, just bought a 1" steerer for my RC35s. Thing is it's aluminium so due to the thicker walls, the internal diameter is 19mm rather than the regular 22mm you would expect from a 1" steel steerer.

Does anyone know where I can get a smaller star nut or compression fitting.

Or is the answer to modify a regular 1" star nut?

A bigger hammer or lbs. road forks used to be inch so star nuts around, try eBay if not.

you might be able to wedge the star nut into the fork. A very snug fit but it might do the trick.

Cutting the slits a bit deeper with a thin fringing blade or hacksaw can help too.
