1" LX headset bearings

I'm rebuilding a orange p7 (not mint as I'm going to use it) but I've stripped the headset bearings & the lower race has had it, I greased it & put the ball bearings back in (when I found them all) but it does not feel right, some of the balls had lost the chrome coating)
all I need is the lower race, stx may be the same? I don't want to replace the whole headset as the rest of the bike is full LX.

Just go to your LBS with the old bearings and match up some new ones.

I take it you mean the ball bearings? I might do that, as I had a bit of a ring round & no one lists the cassette bearings anymore, I think that the bearings were available for say £10.00 but the whole headset was about £13.00.
I do have a orange c16r with good bearings, so may swap them over.

Is it the cartridge bearing type headset then?

I think that is the correct description, the upper & lower race come as semi sealed bearings, until worn, then they fall apart when the forks are removed.
