I'm having difficulty finding an Aheadset in 1" size, seems this size headset is now pretty much obsolete apart from BSO's which still seem to use 1" headsets. :?

I understand Chris King do a 1" NoThreadset, and down the lower end I've found a Ritchey 1" aheadset, but are there any other mid-range and above aheadsets that I should look for? It's for an Orange Prestige by the way.

spa cycles have a few as well as sjs cycles. not expensive. But not nasty cheap

I just bought a silver Cane Creek 100 for $47 from their web site.

I think the price is more than half off.

My Bontrager OR has had one for 10 years, perfect.

I had exactly the same problem as you - for the same bike too :) I had it slightly harder as I wanted a matched pair of crown races to swap from rigid to Suss and back. I was going to retain the remaining parts for my unicorn which has a 1" headset.

There are lots of road / mixed use headsets about that will do the job.

In the end I found a pair of NOS Stronglight A9's @34.99 that will do the job lovely.

ironically one of mine might be up for sale in the new year as my plans have changed.....l

I've obviously not been looking hard enough
It's easy enough to swap crown races over between sus/rigid forks, but a spare always on the forks would make life a little easier, I guess King do spares for their headsets?
Hmmm... bit of a dilemma really as ideally I want to fit a headset that will last years and never need upgrading.... so that would be a King headset then , it's just being a tight Yorkshireman I wince at the price of them
If hope did a 1" headset that would be my 1st choice, but they don't :(
