🔥Kona Cinder Cone 1991 restore and disc conversion

That fork is a great find - I thought by the time kona p2 had disc mount only the length was getting a bit long for the rigid-era frames, and I wouldn't want to put a disc tab on a pre- disc (quality) fork😬 the braking forces are too different
I believe this one to be 395mm axel to crown. It might be that it is a touch long but I don’t mind the impact that has on the geo.

Funnily enough, I’ve had some success in converting older non disc forks to run disc brakes. I weld a concaved plate onto the fork first, then the tab to the plate. I find this helps spread the load 👍🏻
 
I enjoyed reading & looking at this. I have one of these 91 Cinders' in my stable. One of my fave bikes from bitd. Just something about this colour & it's really cool to see you found a decent modern match.
Thank you! The colour match was honestly a fluke, but came out so close, I thought it was going to be more like the golden colour but in daylight there is definitely a hint of green.
