🔥Kona Cinder Cone 1991 restore and disc conversion

That looks really good. I like the way you have kept the spirit of the original. It's like a modern, pumped up version of mine. Good work!

Thank you! Indeed I always wanted it to keep looking somehow similar to its original form - looking at yours it certainly does remain some of its charm. And you are right - our bikes are super similar!

Looks amazing, I bet you can't go in and out of a bike shop in less than half an hour with that lol. You've done a really nice tasteful job 👍

Thanks mate, I’m delighted with how it’s turned out. That said I’m going to extend the steerer a bit to bring the front end up a touch more to suit me a little better.

After a bit of bother with the cranks on this I finally got around to swapping them to a set of SRAM GXP’s. Not sure I’ll keep them on this, but needs must so I could ride it.

Also managed to get the steerer extended so I could have a bit of a higher front end. The results of which have made it much better suited to the type of riding I built the bike for.

Here’s a reel from tonight’s spin into the city:

That fork is a great find - I thought by the time kona p2 had disc mount only the length was getting a bit long for the rigid-era frames, and I wouldn't want to put a disc tab on a pre- disc (quality) fork😬 the braking forces are too different
