⚪🔵Dynatech Diablo STX UGLI Ti (Limited Edition???) ⚪🔵

Dyna-Tech Fan
Good morning all!

I've managed to acquire this very pristine looking Dynatech Diablo STX in turquoise/blue.

I've had a few outings on it, approximately 40 miles since Sunday and GOODNESS me, it's very smooth, even with the original components.

So, all STX, I'm changing the cantis for Vs at the weekend, I'll get some polished Deore XT pedals, levers and brakes on, I was going to replace them wit STX RC instead... But we'll see which (sadly) look cooler 😂

Anyway, I'm loving the original setup, including the saddle, this is my first retro MTB, a side from all of the Raleighs I was bought as a child by family/given from relatives... God, those were the days; when a cousin, cool as hell, drops his Yukon in your garden, frame too big, gooch now in tatters... I wouldn't change it for the world.

If anyone happens to know any colour matching codes OR the paint I can acquire, please let me know; I like to keep things as immaculate as possible... You should see the pairs of leather boots I own 😂

Anyway, if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears (eyes)! Thanks everyone.

KAJS.

That’s a beaut. Personally I wouldn’t change the cantis to v-brake.

Only other improvement I could see is to sort the grips out. Looks like it had bar ends that have been removed? Would tidy up easy by moving them and putting some plugs in the ends. That’s being picky though - it’s a a really clean nice bike.

I'm jealous. Turquoise is my fave colour and I love a dynatech.

Appreciate it is pristine and original, but I'd be tempted to upgrade, v brakes are one improvement imho, but others will disagree which is fine.

If the rest works, I'd keep it original, though in practice I never do that myself and always upgrade to get the spec I want, never fuss too much about period correctness.

Absolutely agree about the bar ends, I'll get some grip rings and move the grips down, if I can anyway! Haha.

Turquoise is my favourite colour too, it's mega!

Yeah, if I could get some xtrs on it, or something similar I'd love it, I'd probably go 1x too, simply for the aesthetic, however, saying that I think the STX looks nice!

Gutted I did this last night though, put a frame protector on incorrectly, peeled it off to readjust and this happened! Might just be lacquer... Hope so! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
