how do you measure the axle to crown on those forks  :)

From the centre of the skewer to the underside of the crown race (the part of the headset that's sat/wedged on the forks.

Desperately hoping (for the sake of my overdraught) it's not 425mm...

While we're talking figures (and my battered finances), do you have the seatpost diameter? Should be printed near the base...

445 is pretty normal I think, corrected for 80mm travel, 425 a little older, for 60mm travel and 465 more modern for 100mm.

Or is 425 for 80mm, 445 for 100m...

I'll wait for someone who knows what I'm talking about!
*cough*
*whistles*

well you say that but recently we measured my dads modern rst forks and they were around 490mm for 100mm travel so weve got him some 465mm s as 440 was too short really, maybe thats just how he likes it but it did look wrong
edit: i think you can get a 29er into a 490

So with 1/4 (25mm) sag they'd sit at 465mm, that'd make sense

So 60mm corrected = 425mm
80mm corrected = 445mm
100mm corrected = 465mm

Although I'm still expecting to be 'corrected'...

Just to amend for that accidental mini-hijack, I'd like to remind people that there's some lovely bits for sale at the top of the page, at good prices, and Adam's a nice bloke to deal with :D

Sorry for the (possibly useful but miss-placed) distraction
