back then - they always came pre-assembled in cardboard "troughs" with
this heavy duty shrink wrap over them that only a stanley blade could
hack through...buckled steel wheels, every single one of them..
...DREADFUL!!

I can see you lads don't work in marketing. It's the words 'vintage' and 'retro' that did the trick. The seller could have appealed to an even wider customer base if he'd managed to shoehorn 'fixie' in there somehow.
