yeah, I think 390 would be a bit short. 420, 425 seems about right.

Wanted Emergency! 1in steerer rigid fork needed!

Thanks tangent. Was after something a little less expensive - it's a parts bin build really!

Wanted Emergency! 1in steerer rigid fork needed!

Just come to build up a Bontrager Privateer I've had in the loft for a while. Wanted to take it away next weekend. Got all the bits gathered together, crown race onto the Spesh Direct Drive forks a mate had gifted me, went to press the cups in the frame, and bums - I'd always assumed the...

Swap. Canadian steel for some British steel

I've got nothing to offer, but I do like a dekerf. Hopefully someone who's got something you want does, too. Be interesting to see how this goes! Can you post some pics?

Official recommended or not paint-shop thread.

Re: Just found this looking up powder coaters near me - looks like Aurora are worth visiting. Dave Yates should be on the list for wet paint. He did a great job on my Generation after swapping some brazings around on it. Dead chuffed. Difficult to catch it in a photo, but it's got a yellow...

    1" Threadless 26" Forks

If you know anyone in the states who can receive and post for you, bikeman.com are doing new P2s in that flavour for USDnotmuch. Won't podgy correct to UK, though.

    Great big Singlespeed thread!

Even better? With a chain and a rear brake cable? Spot on otherwise! Is the seat post the right size? Slot looks a bit cinched.

Looks perfect! Just the forks though, not the whole bike? :-)

    1" rigid fork, threadless steerer

Mtb, v-brake bosses. Not fussy, it's to go on a pub/station bike.

    1999 Dekerf Generation (non-sympathetic restoration!)

Cheers guys, Mr Dekerf's mount is a little prettier and he uses a gusset rather than a brace. If I'd been in Canada, it'd have gone to him, but the cost of shipping from here would have been ridiculous. I asked whether he'd send a mount and gusset for Dave Yates to braze on. Chris wasn't...

    1999 Dekerf Generation (non-sympathetic restoration!)

Changed the title again! Sent it off to Dave Yates in March (3 years after 1st post!) along with a Salsa Cromoto fork. Disc mount, brace hydro guides, removal of bosses and a respray. Couple of new bits, couple of bits off STW classifieds, couple of bits from the parts bin and wheels...

    Great big Singlespeed thread!

1999 Dekerf Generation, Salsa cromoto forks, Philcentric BB and Goldtec wonky chainring. I like it very much! Finished this morning, went for a pootle. Just canal paths and arsing around in town. First proper outing is shaping up to be Purbeck on the early May Bank Holiday weekend. Where...

    Tell me about DeKerf

In terms of travel, The Z2 Lights that were on when I bought it were 432mm, figured a bit less than that would replicate some sag, and give me some leeway for a 650B front should I feel like hitching a lift on the bandwagon.

    Tell me about DeKerf

Good work on picking up a Dekerf. Any pics yet? After aaages thinking about it, I've just sent my '99 Generation off to Dave Yates for a disc mount on the back, and a respray. Sent off some 425 Salsa Cromotos to be sprayed the same colour. Setting it up singlespeed too, not sure whether to...

WTD: Salsa Cromoto, 425 A2C, (or maybe similar P2 TB?) disc

Anyone got anything suitable in the parts bin for me? Don't mind if they're tatty; I'm getting the frame resprayed, so if the forks are ratty, it's only an extra tenner to get them done too. Cheers! Ed

Can any Europeans help with some Italian MTB vocab?

Yup, easy one broken there, and before I even started typing! I did look, honest, just not far enough down. I'm used to that other place where there's only really a choice of two and I frequently get that wrong. If this could be moved, that'd be great. Thanks.
