Ive just found some numbers stamped on the frame 056. Could be the frmae size?

I think thats the case, its definitely a bespoke build and whoever made it didn't leave any trace at all. I had a quote for the whole frame to be taken back and polished and its not going to happen. Id rather spend the money on turning it into a drop bar gravel bike.

Thats intresting. Im going to have a go with some course sandpaper to see if i can at least get the scratches out of it. If its too much for me to do then ill enquire about someone else doing it for me.Then slowly build it up if my wife doesnt devorce me 🤪

No numbers on it anywhere thats why im assuming its a bespoke built frame possibly titianium and i havent got a clue what to do with it or where to start with it. I thought polish the scratches out first then go from there

The seat post has another piece of metal inside the downtube. Anyone no if that was how it should be done?

I have this old bespoke frame and im trying to find out if its titanium or aluminium. Its light and also polishes up ok with soft wire wool. There are some deep scratches that the wire wool wont touch so im wondering if its raw aluminium instead of titanium. Also it has a high pitch ping when...

Is this titanium or aluminium? Ive had ago with some wire wool and it seems to polish up a little. There are some deep scratches though that the wire wool wont touch i wonder if its raw aluminium though? Its a very light frame and pings when i hit it with an allen key

Brought a new bottom bracket today from my LBS. Couldnt find a shimano one though. I fitted it to the bike this afternoon whist my youngest had a nap. Fitting was easy and after a tune up its rock solid compared to the old one. Next jobs to do are new brake blocks and new gear and brake cables.

The driveside crank says ST8 Forged 175 G-4 And the other crank says STL Forged 175 G-8 Thanks. I just got back from my local bike shop and the bike mechanic sold me a 73x110.5mm sqaure taper Oxford bottom bracket. I asked for a Shimano one but he said you would find it difficult to find one...

I removed the bottom bracket today and it measures 70mm with a 110mm spindle length. The bb shell measures 74mm. The cranks have 175 G-8 stamped on them. So do i need a threaded 70x110mm bb?

Finally got a few hours spare this morning to remove the bottom bracket. While I had the cranks of I stripped and cleaned the crankset. They look alot better now after removing all the sticky grease and mud.

OK, thanks for getting back to me. Ill have a look at whats stamped on it.
