Yes they did! The 1991 Hammer below is from a member of this forum and looks very similar.

Very interesting paintjob! I looks a lot like the 1988 Hammer, but the frame is clearly from the 90s and even the fade is done differently. I have seen a lot of Hammer on Marketplace / Kijiji / Ebay but none looked like that one. Great find, I'll be following this build 👍.

Unfortunatley, without much surprise, it is already sold (it already was when I made the post, it took maybe a day or two)... It was in Montréal. You're right, I really considered grabbing it despite the size, but my basement is already full of bikes so I'm getting picky with the new projects...

Here's another very special find from my neck of the wood, an early Rocky Mountain Wedge (likely from 1988-1989). I would have loved to grab this fillet brazed gem, but unfortunately, it was way too small for me (17" according to the owner)... I love the livery, it reminds me of the 1991...

@OldSkoolReTool'd Marinoni appears to have the chain stay chromed, but that's not the case for mine. Maybe it was an option at the time; my Marinoni came with a Deore LX groupset so it might have been a more ''budget friendly'' build. I'll post some pictures when I'm done restoring it.

@OldSkoolReTool'd I just bought a very similar Marinoni mountain bike. It has the same serial number pattern as the one on yours and the same tubing, add ons etc. Did you get in contact with Marinoni? I know they imported some of the mountain frames from Asia. I'm curious if ours were imported...
