    Steel 1992 Rocky Mountain Vertex

I would never 😂 I actually went the opposite way, past Québec city. As noted by fluffychicken, the Altitude was the top of the line "standard" steel bike in 1992. It came with Tange Ultimate Superlight tubing and a full XTR group, the very first year it was available. I agree that the Blizzard...

    Steel 1992 Rocky Mountain Vertex

I just got home from picking up this 1992 Rocky Mountain Vertex. Handbuilt in Canada, the only year the Vertex didn't have an aluminium frame! I actually bought it a few weeks ago from a guy on Marketplace, but needed to find the time to make the 2 hour drive to pick it up... It's officially...

    Rocky Mountain Hammer

I also believe that this frame was made after 1990. If I had to bet on a year, it would be 1991; it just looks so much like the one in the picture I posted above!

    Rocky Mountain Hammer

Yes they did! The 1991 Hammer below is from a member of this forum and looks very similar.

    Rocky Mountain Hammer

Very interesting paintjob! I looks a lot like the 1988 Hammer, but the frame is clearly from the 90s and even the fade is done differently. I have seen a lot of Hammer on Marketplace / Kijiji / Ebay but none looked like that one. Great find, I'll be following this build 👍.

Early Rocky Mountain Wedge on Marketplace

Unfortunatley, without much surprise, it is already sold (it already was when I made the post, it took maybe a day or two)... It was in Montréal. You're right, I really considered grabbing it despite the size, but my basement is already full of bikes so I'm getting picky with the new projects...

Early Rocky Mountain Wedge on Marketplace

Here's another very special find from my neck of the wood, an early Rocky Mountain Wedge (likely from 1988-1989). I would have loved to grab this fillet brazed gem, but unfortunately, it was way too small for me (17" according to the owner)... I love the livery, it reminds me of the 1991...

Brodie a saw on Marketplace a while ago...

Unfortunately no. I thought about writing to them, but they deleted the ad instead of marking it as "sold"...

Brodie a saw on Marketplace a while ago...

Last summer, while browsing Marketplace searching for a project, I found an ad listing a few bikes for free. Most of them were cheap, entry level bikes, but one of them captured my attention. It appears to be a Brodie with a second top tube, something I had not yet seen. It looks rough, but...

Brodie going cheap…. Not in the UK

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw this 300$ Brodie yesterday lol. I seriously considered doing the 2h30 car ride from Montreal to go see it, but I'll pass for 1000$... Sucks that listings can be this misleading!

    Marinoni Special Mountain Bike

As promised, here are some pictures of my freshly restored 1991 Marinoni Mountain S as well as a scan of the original purchase order provided by Marinoni! The bike still had the complete Deore LX groupset when I bought it, but I replaced most of it by Deore XT. (The color described on the P.O...

    Marinoni Special Mountain Bike

@OldSkoolReTool'd Marinoni appears to have the chain stay chromed, but that's not the case for mine. Maybe it was an option at the time; my Marinoni came with a Deore LX groupset so it might have been a more ''budget friendly'' build. I'll post some pictures when I'm done restoring it.

    Marinoni Special Mountain Bike

@OldSkoolReTool'd I just bought a very similar Marinoni mountain bike. It has the same serial number pattern as the one on yours and the same tubing, add ons etc. Did you get in contact with Marinoni? I know they imported some of the mountain frames from Asia. I'm curious if ours were imported...

I'll give it a try even if the competition is fierce this month. Can't have a USA special without at least one Zaskar! @Guigui58 1991 GT Zaskar Restoration thread here
