Re: Re: Yeah I can understand that mate. Also nice to have something a little less expensive to chuck yourself down a hill on to be fair!

    Orange Five

Yeah its Sherwood Pines. Didn't want to go too far as the weather was somewhat questionable yesterday. Very pleased with the swap. The Five is much more lively than the Mega! The Banshee is actually their demo Bike, my mate is a dealer for them and has it at his shop at the moment along with...

    Orange Five

Forks serviced and lowered to 150mm pretty simple on these Marzocchi's and obviously suits the Five much better.... Took it for a blast at the local trail centre today with a mate of mine! Needless to say you couldn't miss us today!

    Orange Five

These were even better priced as they were a second hand bargain! Not ridden it yet, but on the street the feel great and they are much lighter than the domain!

    Orange Five

New forks fitted although I need to take them off and reduce the travel from 170mm to 150mm Also fitted some new bars which match the frame nicely!

    Orange Five

The Mega was a very very good bike. The only reason I got rid of it was because it was too small for me. It was a 17” frame, which is about what I like to ride, but on the 2012 Mega the top tubes were very short. They had a long wheelbase, but the length was all behind the rider in the chain...

    Orange Five

Got it built today! Nipped to my mates bike shop first to use his headset press, then came home and set about taking the nukeproof apart. 15 mins and got it to this stage lol! Then started on the Five Took a bit longer to rebuild, but not too long. Took the opportunity to clean most...

    Orange Five

New project for me, treated myself to an Orange Five for my 30th. The parts from the Mega will be transferred over to this. Need to nip it down to the bike shop to get the Hope headset pressed in and then I'll get going on the build.

    Brand new Rock Shox Reverb

Brand new Rock Shox Reverb seat post. 31.6 dia 125mm travel Full length hose Right hand lever (I used it upside down on the left as it keeps it out of the way and also feels more natural to use) This was a warranty replacement that I have just received back from Fisher. Still boxed, never...

    2012 Nukeproof Mega

Just had an email back from Wiggle regarding my Reverb. I sent it back due to it extending when picking the bike up by the saddle without any resistance at all... I thought may just need a service, but as it was under warranty I sent it back anyway. I've now got a brand new Reverb on the way to...

    2012 Nukeproof Mega

It does feel much better! The geometry of the frame on the mega with the steep seat angle does push you forward on the bike. Having the lay back post does move it back a little bit without compromising climbing ability.

    2012 Nukeproof Mega

I don't like having the saddle all the way down really! I tend to like it somewhere between my knees when I'm out of the saddle. This resulted in me faffing about with it quite a lot on my usual rides, trying to find that perfect height for the majority of my riding. Granted being able to put...

    2012 Nukeproof Mega

Removed the Reverb the other day as it could do with a service. I put a Thomson Layback post on there and went for a ride on Saturday. Cant say I missed the reverb at all! In fact it was enjoyable to just ride without thinking about whether i needed the seat up or down, I just dealt with it...

    26" x 2.35 Hans Dampf TrailStar/PaceStar pair

26" x 2.35 Hans Dampf TrailStar/PaceStar pair I bought this pair of tyres last year after reading all the hype. They are fantastic tyres, but for me they just seem too wide and cumbersome. Ive gone back to maxxis minion/highroller. So these are up for grabs. £48 each new from CRC and these...

    BFE replacement...Stanton Slackline

Just stay in bed and moan about the weather mate! That's what I intend to do! Had enough of getting wet this week!

    Orange MsIsle - Rebuild

This must be a 1998 one then to fit a reverb... They only did a 31.6 seat tube for one year before changing to 27.2!

    Rockshox Domain 318

A 2014 Marzocchi 55 CR which should be a decent, lighter alternative.
