Help me understand the 90s Trek 920

I know this here is for bikes before 1997, but the 1998 Trek 920 seems to misplaced in time somehow. I checked the Trek catalogues available here and it is a full rigid chromoly bike and seems to have only been produced in 1998 (later Trek used 920 for a tracking/bike packing 29"). Trek didn't...

Right size Trek 950 vs tad too small 970 - any thoughts?

Thanks for your insights! Right now I have 2 smaller frames and I know they don't fit that well. I'll get the 950 :)

Right size Trek 950 vs tad too small 970 - any thoughts?

I wanna build up a daily driver and have to decide between a 22" 950 that should fit for my height or a 20" 970. (Both bikes I would have to buy blind and have them send to me...) So this is a question about steel: Both being about the same price, but the 970 being a higher Tange (prob...

Who can tell me more about this Bianchi full XT mtb?

Re: As said: I googled it and used the (google based) search here too, but nothing came up for the specific bike shown on my photo. I know new members can be of the do-everything-for-me-for-free, but I really searched beforehand and came here hoping someone with a focus of older Bianchis might...

Who can tell me more about this Bianchi full XT mtb?

Can’t dig up anything on the internet. I’m particularly interested in the steel used, since it is a heavy beast. Columbus Cromor maybe? I’m not interested in what-would-you-pay-for-it since I planned to strip it for the parts anyways. Just wondering how this combo of good components and heavy...

    Info on Bianchi Grizzly needed

I can't find much info on a Bianchi Grizzly mtb I have. It's full XT, made in Italy, but rather heavy. It's black and green, but not the famous Celeste. It feels like someone took an entry level frame and put XT components on it. It isn't a 93 Grizzly, I found that catalogue, so it might be a 92...

Options for going 1x9 with an XT M735 and MS thumpy?

Yeah, I tent to complicate things according to my significant other. So, I just went for it. I gutted a too-small-for-me Pine Mountain with 90s White Industries cranks on it. Both BB are 110mm, both cranks are 175, so this should work. But the White has a 94bcd and the only narrow-wide chainring...

Options for going 1x9 with an XT M735 and MS thumpy?

Re: I took a while to respond because I wanted to follow the advice you gave. Both of you state I should pick a crank that'll work with my BB. Well, this is the difficult part for me. I found this page from SB https://www.sheldonbrown.com/bbsize.html#chainline and been reading up on chain...

Options for going 1x9 with an XT M735 and MS thumpy?

So I've tried to learn more about square tapper cranks and the specific bottom brackets they require, in order to get a single chainring in the front and a 9 speed cassette in the back. I believe 9speed with the M735 rear derailleur isn't the problem. And putting a 9s cassette on my 8s hup also...

    Can you IDENTIFY this Raleigh?

Thank's so much Andy! This basically seals its fate as I was naively hoping to have made a bargain. Even as a beater-bike I would probably want a more "special" bike and upgrading this with better parts won't do it.

    Can you IDENTIFY this Raleigh?

That's what I'm talking about - thank you all three! Still can't find a pic of another Raleigh with these bold decals, but there's not much reason to take pics of your Home Depot cruiser...

    Can you IDENTIFY this Raleigh?

Re: I guess my English isn't as good as I hoped:) I know this is a UK forum but please be patient with those users from outside the UK, that don't speak English as their native language... I changed the title for all you linguist and hope now, someone can shed some light on what kind of Raleigh...

    Can you IDENTIFY this Raleigh?

After doom scrolling though the Google picture search, I hope someone here might tell me what kind of Raleigh this is. I bought it for 10€ and my brother in law picked it up, my plan for this is a get-around bike when I'm at my in-laws, so nothing fancy but I still want to make it nice;)
