1989 Rocky Mountain Avalanche - Hot Pink !!!

Re: Beautiful. I had the same pink and purple Avalanche back in the day, until somebody stole it out of the garage in '92 or '93 when my roommate went out and left the door up (thankfully they left a very expensive road bike behind, which I still have and use to race in vintage events). I...

    Tell me about Klein

No blemishes and no cellulite. You'll love it. Not sure if I have it with my stuff here or whether it's at my parents place, 1,000 kms away. I'm going there for a visit on Saturday, so either way I'll be able to look for it. It's not doing me any good sitting in a box, so I may as well let...

    Tell me about Klein

Dr S. I see from your signature that you're looking for an old steel Campagnolo Nuovo Record headset. I have one from a late 70's Colnago road bike that got pretzeled when I was hit by a car. I'll take a look and see if I can find it, if you're interested.

    Tell me about Klein

I used to go the UK a lot on business and I miss the sense of humour over there. Thanks for the good laugh. It made me think of my old mates. I was thinking of the Klein more as a trophy wife/mistress. It looks hot, and you bring it out now and again to show it off or give a ride, then you...

    Tell me about Klein

Thanks for the link. The paint on the frame above is similar to the '88 and '89 model year, but it looks like the top tube cable routing and seat stay mounted cantilever brakes didn't arrive until 1990, but the paint from 1990 on seemed to be monotone. Now I'm confused. Edit: I just found a...

    show us your Rocky Mountains!

Here's my '91 RM Experience. I love this frame. It's heavy, but it's bombproof and its handling is fantastic. Climbs like a scalded cat, too. The only mods are a Girvin Flex Stem (but that's pretty retro, too), and changing the crummy 1st gen Grip Shifters to Shimano rapid fire shifters...

Rocky Mountain Experience, 'The Canadian Moose' **FINISHED**

Then it must have looked like this

Rocky Mountain Experience, 'The Canadian Moose' **FINISHED**

The Experience is a hard to find classic. It was bombproof, and there was nothing (probably still isn't) that could touch it for climbing. On steep climbs on other bikes, it's always a fine balancing act between spinning the rear wheel or popping the front end up, but not with the Experience...
