    Orange P7

I was trying to make it as original as possible, so did not really think about how it would ride, it was a bike I wanted but could not afford at the time, I think a LX P7 was about £850? seems quite a bit now, so must have seemed very expensive in 1995. I'm going to put it on ebay later if...

    Orange P7

I think it's a 17" & as far as I can remember it is as it came from orange except there are a few purple bottle cage screws, all LX I even managed to get some of the foam grips that they came with, the frame has a few 'rust spots' but these seem to form under the lacquer. I bought the bike off...

    Orange P7

I've been putting a orange p7 back together for the last few week, I always wanted one of these, but I now realize that I'm struggling a bit with the straight bars, so it may not get ridden much (43, 14 stone) I may put it in the 'for sale section' any idea what it would be worth?

    Orange P7

Good point, but I think the wheels are 8/9 speed as there was a spacer behind the cassette.

    Orange P7

It was a bike I always wanted, but could never afford at the time, I bet it climbs well, it seems very light, hopefully I'll test it out next weekend around canock chase (or the high peak trail, as I've had septic arthritis in my right knee, so have to be careful)

    Orange P7

I have a XT fr & rr mech on the C16, but I'm not sure if I should swap them over? the P7 is all LX currently as it was when new.

    Orange P7

I'm rebuilding a P7 & using some better bits from my C16, I've just spent 20 minutes sorting out the 8 speed shifter, but when I came to swapping the rear cassette as the C16 had good LX/mavic wheels but 7 speed, I found the original P7 owner had been running a 7 speed cassette with a 8 speed...

    1" LX headset bearings

I think that is the correct description, the upper & lower race come as semi sealed bearings, until worn, then they fall apart when the forks are removed.

    Foam Grips?

Crap, I bet they are cheaper than the ones I just bought! I may buy some for my other bike.

    1" LX headset bearings

I take it you mean the ball bearings? I might do that, as I had a bit of a ring round & no one lists the cassette bearings anymore, I think that the bearings were available for say £10.00 but the whole headset was about £13.00. I do have a orange c16r with good bearings, so may swap them over.

    1" LX headset bearings

I'm rebuilding a orange p7 (not mint as I'm going to use it) but I've stripped the headset bearings & the lower race has had it, I greased it & put the ball bearings back in (when I found them all) but it does not feel right, some of the balls had lost the chrome coating) all I need is the...

    Orange enduro saddle wtd

Sorry, but you never know someone may have a box full? I have a saddle like that, but it is a bit rough at the edges, so I may fit my flite instead.

    Foam Grips?

I've just bought a 1996 orange P7, I'm going to use the best parts from my c16 to built one very good bike, but I'm stuck with the grips, on the P7 they are black foam, where can I buy some? Thanks

I could also do with one, if you have two?

    How do you cut wires?

I have some cable cutters, but if you use pliers, rest them on the top of a bench vice, then with the cable in the jaws, hit the upper side of the jaw with a hammer, usually gives a clean cut, but cable cutters are best.

    1996 (ish?) LX Crank Set

Thanks' but I'm trying to get the bike to 'factory spec' but as I built the bike from a frame I'm having to gather the bits, most is correct, but I'm going to fit a flite saddle that I bought for £50 in 1993 (alway knew it would be used again)
