    91 Orange Aluminium 'O'

Researching the saddle now, so far no stock on the Spoon in red but some Knife going about in the right colour, a pricier option though.

    91 Orange Aluminium 'O'

Re: Re: But, but.... the saddle matches the forks!  I just checked out a few of your build threads, had never heard of Trimble, it's simultaneously the ugliest and the best thing I've seen on here so far!

    91 Orange Aluminium 'O'

Thanks, there are at least two more cars than are strictly necessary  , although the eTron is great if anyone's considering electric. I think I'll lacquer the decals, in hindsight I should have done that prior to assembly :? . Other than that and a chain stay protector I think it's...

    91 Orange Aluminium 'O'

Re: It's almost finished, just the new decals to fit and a full shakedown run to do, reassuringly nothing fell off when I took it for a spin round the driveway :D I had bought mudguards but the lines are so clean it seems a shame to clutter it up :? .

Tried that first, snapped the clamp clean off before it spread wide enough to fit. The powder coat just added too much diameter, sanded areas are all hidden so no biggie.

Thank you both, I'm a little embarrassed now  .

    1991 Alpinestars Al-Mega DX - FINISHED! Pages 7-9

    91 Orange Aluminium 'O'

Re: Thanks for the feedback. I loved my Zolatone Pine Mountain, felt so special riding it to 6th form back in the day, hadn't twigged the similarity between it and this build until you mentioned it! I thought I bought it in 89 though, was the Zolatone not available until 90? That new Pine...

    91 Orange Aluminium 'O'

Re: Starting to come together, few mishaps, broke a brake lever trying to fit it over the powder coated bars before I gave in and rubbed them down. I was also missing an external BB tool for the Hollowtech that delayed me a week. Had a blonde moment and ordered a seatpost clamp in 28.6...

    91 Orange Aluminium 'O'

Rather than invest in a new gravel bike I've decided to update my 1991 'O'. I've owned the bike since new, it replaced a stolen '89 Marin Pine Mountain, and was pretty original save for the saddle, pedals, road wheels and tyres, a Middleburn ring and new derailleur cogs. I still have all the...

Re: Here's mine, 1991 Aluminium 'O', in this photo it's 100% unrestored / original with the exception of the wheels, pedals, saddle and bottom bracket. I still have the original bits: However I've just stripped it down and will be picking it up from the powdercoaters this afternoon and...
