Lovely looking bike and location. How tall are you? Would love to have a steel diamond frame but as it's an 18 inch frame worried it might be a little big (though the tt length at 23 inches is perfect)

    1998 stumpjumper M2 Pro

It's those blue forks, saddle and the stem! They are lovely frames, looking forward to the proper build. It would look great as a singlespeed; Carboncycles exotic fork, Flite saddle, Thomson or Ritchey parts...

    1998 stumpjumper M2 Pro

Nice frame and I know it's a cheap build, but it looks awful. Are you sure you have the correct frame size for the Spesh and the Kona, or do you just like your saddle at a really low height? Looking forward to seeing it all built up.

    sub 16lb M2 stumpie

fantastic Looks lovely, will be very interested in how it is in 1x9 (10) speed. Any special things you have to look out for in getting an aluminium frame powdercoated? Just need to find a good reliable powdercoater in Glasgow and rebuild my Kona.

    2010 Kona Unit

How tall are you and do you get any toe/tyre interface problems? Seems to have a short top tube length, if they did a 16" with a 23" top tube I would buy one.

    GT Psyclone

So, short toptube lengths by todays standards (I suppose it is a retro/vintage bike) though 21.5" does seem very short. (is that actual or virtual t/t length?) Back to the days of 130mm stems! Wish I still had my old Zoom and Ringle stuff.

    GT Psyclone

Lovely, lovely bike. I would like to get hold of a GT, but have always been a bit wary of size. I'm 5'9" so should I go for a 16" or 18", the 18's always look as if they would be a bit tall for me. How tall are you as you have a 16"?

    Raleigh Dyna tech Encounter

Well if anyone comes across a Raleigh Dyna Tech Encounter with Zoom stem and seatpost, green San Marco Rolls saddle and campagnolo rims and Venhill? bolt set let me know. It was my old bike (bought from a bike shop in Surbiton) probably de-stickered and in one of my many moments of madness I...

    KONA Pahoehoe Year 2000

Thanks for the info, I have a 2001 Pahoehoe (gold colour) which I am rebuilding also size 17". I looked at the top tube cable guides, still have the metal sleeves for the brake cable, but always thought they would be too small to fit a hydraulic hose through. Still need to find a 27.0 seatpost...

    KONA Pahoehoe Year 2000

Love it Really nice, apart from those shimano wheels, I just don't like them. Apart from that super bike. A couple of questions, how tall are you, and did you have to drill out the cable stops to run the rear disc hose along the top tube.

What length rigid fork for Kona?

I'm going for the Salsa fork (still don't really trust carbon for forks, daft I'm sure). As for the frame, it's easton ultralite same as the Kula of the same year just built up with cheaper/burlier parts.

What length rigid fork for Kona?

After snapping my Marzocchi's in half I'm thinking of going rigid. Now, I probably should go for Kona Project 2's, but I'm thinking either Salsa Cro-moto's, On-One carbon or Element/Nukeproof/Whitebros/Superstar/Axima carbon. They must have v-brake mounts, but what length? The frame is a 2001...

    Kona Pahoehoe 2001

Just snapped the forks in half, so have put a 2001 pair of coil Z3s on it. I think I will be getting a pair of Salsa cromoto forks and putting flat bars on it.

    For the taller gent

Thank goodness a Singular that looks good! They are really nice frames (I wish I fitted them), but people always seem to build them with drops and a brooks saddle. Yours looks much nicer, very nice!

    Kona Pahoehoe 2001

Yes it does have a disc mount. It's made of Easton Ultralite so the frame is light, 3.5lbs +/- It has a 80mm fork at the moment which gives it a 71 h/a and 74 s/a, I should think it would take a 100mm fork no problem (look at the scandium explosif of mikefoster, same year frame )

2001 Explosif. Now no longer mine.

    new pics please!

    Kona Pahoehoe 2001

After 2001, kona colour schemes did get a bit gash. Saying that I do like some of the new 2009 stuff, looks much better in the metal, but the good years were pre 2001.
