    Acera V brakes

Hi all Trying to get my single speed back into working order again. Came across these in the shed and had a couple of wee questions? One pair has slightly longer fixing bolts than the other, is this normal for v brakes or have I just got a weird batch? The difference is only a few mm but I...

    700c rear free wheel

Hi Trying to fix up an old Falcon road bike and I'm looking for a 700c rear wheel with a screw on freewheel, going to to try and keep it original and run it as a 12 speed. The only wheels I have seen so far cost triple what the bike cost. Thanks

Wheel axle - how much should be in the forks.

Yeah LBS checked it and it's fine. What's not fine is the bottom bracket is cross threaded! There going to try and fix it next week but if they can't it looks like it's for the scrap. Oh and it looks like it initially ran on 27 inch wheels not 700,I'm told this means short drop calipers and...

    Falcon catalogue

Hi IV been searching but to no avail,I picked up a Falcon road bike Racer 12 but I can't find any information on this bike apart from I believe there was a Team Banana version of it but the specs look different. https://drive.google.com/file/d/13VimzC ... p=drivesdk Has a Reynolds 500...

Wheel axle - how much should be in the forks.

I might just take it to the LBS to be sure, its a mare to fit it in. I'm not too fussed about having a QR ,bikes going to be used to commute so anything that makes it harder for the buggers to nick is a good thing in my book. I'll let you all know what they say. Thanks for all your replies.

Wheel axle - how much should be in the forks.

I measured the drop outs, not sure if I did it right. Measured on the outside of the forks Rear 134 mm Front 100mm What's my options here if it's unsafe? Can I replace it with a solid axle? I'll need to measure the gap in the drop outs. Also just noticed the front wheel ain't true! Last...

Wheel axle - how much should be in the forks.

Yeah that's what I thought as well,I know the qr will compress the forks but it just seems odd to me.

Wheel axle - how much should be in the forks.

Thanks,I'll need to get measuring. Can you tell by eye if these look Uber short to you? I'm starting to suspect the fella just chucked them to up his chances of getting the bike sold. Cheers

Rear mech hanger - Falcon race 12

Hi Purchased a bike with the rear mech attached like this https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yW9Z ... p=drivesdk Guy I bought from said I need a hanger for the mech but he couldn't find one to fit. Anyone shed some light on the correct part?? I think the bike is late 80's though I can't find...

Wheel axle - how much should be in the forks.

Hi I purchased a bike but I'm confused as there's very little of the wheel axle sitting in the forks, honestly it's looks dangerous but I'm not used to quick release wheels so maybe I'm overreacting. Appreciate your thoughts. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yW9Z ... p=drivesdk...

    Falcon Race 12

Issues Play in bottom bracket Front axle seems too short for forks, there's maybe 5mm in the forks. Same with rear. REAR wheel has a crack near the spokes so will need replaced Need a hanger for rear mech Rear cassette seems a mess,it was barely attached and looks like it's too big for what...

    Falcon Race 12

Hi I picked this up off gumtree for under £50, initially I thought it a bargain but there's some stuff that's concerning me. I'll detail that in a bit but for now I'll just post some pics. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yW9Z ... p=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yW9Z ...

    Rust removed/cheap touch up

Yeah just me being a perfectionist. Screw it,I might just leave it. Like you said the cranks would cover most and I'm planning on putting a chain stay protector on to prevent further damage. Thanks

    Rust removed/cheap touch up

So I picked up Humerol paint and I mistakenly though when it dried it would blend in with the original paintwork. Obviously not https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZnXG6- ... p=drivesdk Anyone want to take a stab at what shade to try next, this was NUM 50. I was tempted to do the BB and part...
