Re: I know it's quite some time ago, but is there any chance you still have the files? Cheers.

Spesh Rockhopper Sport c. 1994 - seatpost diameter

I have acquired a rather tatty Rockhopper Sport in a fetching shade of purple and rust. I think it's from 1993 or 1994. It says 'Direct Drive' (presumably that means "has a chain") on the chain stays and is made of steel. Unfortunately it has no seatpost, and I can't find information to tell me...

    Muddy fox with interesting fork

Re: It says 'Zoom Rigid Forks' in the description - they look like these without the stickers: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zoom-AHEAD-RIG ... B00718WM82

    Early Muddyfox Lovers Anonynmous

I know this was seven months ago - but I just wondered how you got on with the welding (and if it didn't work out, do you still by any chance have the forks? I have the same bike in the same size from the same year, but the thread on the fork steerer is knackered ...) Obviously I hope you got...

Does anyone own this Marin Muirwoods?

Re: I have a bike that had been abandoned - mine wasn't even locked up. I called the police who just asked me for a description and the location, then told me to go and take it, and that if no-one claimed it it was mine: it's now only two weeks you have to wait before it's yours - it used to...

    My Muddys

Re: I've finally got around to changing the stem. Thanks again Mr Gumby. So what was this: Is now this: The proper stem has about an inch more reach I reckon, which is good because the bike felt a bit short to me, but I just put that down to being more used to a road bike. I'm certain the...

Calculate your spoke length ? Casio Programable calculator?

Don't get me started on retro-calcualtors as well! (I had a fx-7000G - that makes me old) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casio_fx-7000G

    Muddy Fox replacement decals

Thank you - it's served me well so far for less than £30 :) It does have a fair few spots of rust on it though. I've got this colour Rustoleum left over from something else, which I think is a pretty good match so when I have the other bike up and running (still not sorted the stuck stem) I...

    Muddy Fox replacement decals

Thanks - they look about right, although on mine the Tange 'shield' for the fork has a pointed bottom, and the bike name is in a larger font. I'll get in touch with gil when I need them - nice to know they are available. I don't suppose you have a multi-coloured paw prints one? Or this Tange one?

    Muddy Fox replacement decals

Hi. I'm thinking of re-painting my Muddy Fox Pathfinder because frankly it's in dire need of it - but I can't find replacement decals anywhere. I can find a 'Muddy Fox' for the crossbar, but not the multi-coloured paw prints, the Tange stickers for the frame or the forks, the Pathfinder sticker...

Rack mounting on a Muddy fox with Wishbone Seatstays????

Not just me then - my Pathfinder also has two sets of braze ons on the drop outs but none on the monostay. No idea what the other set are for!

    muddyfox trailblazer sport

Should add that I got the weights (a bit) wrong. But it's heavy. The frame as shown, with BB, headset races and rear callipers is 3687g (8lb) and the forks are 1040g (2.3lb) but they do have a bit of stem stuck in them still. Is your 1988 a drop-bar one @jimwise68? EDIT - the forks are just...

    muddyfox trailblazer sport

Re: I don't have many of it assembled - it's just a frame at the moment, and in hindsight, taking pictures of a green frame against a green hedge wasn't a great idea. Here's what I do have: Frame: You can see the welded on tube to ensure the brake cable exits centrally at the back, and the...

    muddyfox trailblazer sport

Is your one like this? (image from eBay - completed listing here If so this is different from the 'green' one, which I think is earlier. The green one has three sets of cable guides on the cross bar and a beautifully bent piece of thin tubing to act as a cable guide to the rear cantilever so...

    Work bikes

Re: My only functioning bike at the moment, so naturally it gets used for commuting. 1990 Muddy Fox Pathfinder, complete with lights from Lidl. (and I have still not gor around to fitting the correct stem as kindly provided by @mrgumby - damn so called 'other commitments!')

Lots of good advice, a warm welcome, and some original-stem-loveliness for my Pathfinder - cheers Matt.

Where did you take your retro ride last for a proper ride?

I've commuted on my Muddy Fox Pathfinder every day this week (whadya mean it's only Tuesday?) as it's currently my only working bike. Does that count?
