Rear hubs compatible with 24 spoke and 12x135 axles

12x135 is rare. A 12x142 hub  may work as from what I've read, the extra 3.5mm either side was usually a recess in the frame to line the wheel up which 12x135 didn't have. Thus, you may be able to have 3.5mm shaved off the end caps. This is purely from what I've read & I cannot verify if this...

    Progear - What? Who? Where?

Hi all, Does anyone know anything about Progear bikes e.g. where they were made, or any information at all about the brand? I had a Comp Max many years ago & have recently acquired a Comp 9.0 which is very similar. It's a very cool looking frame with ceramic paintwork, fancy dropouts & tubing...

Seat post size Btwin Triban Trail (any other information appreciated too)

Update: 29.8mm shim fitted but there's quite a bit of play which is weird as in the meantime I borrowed a 30.0mm post from a friend to try out and found it to be too tight? Upon measuring the "29.8" shim I found it's actually 29.6! Conclusion: 29.8 is the correct size post required. I'm gonna...

Seat post size Btwin Triban Trail (any other information appreciated too)

Thanks, I was hoping to find someone who had one that could check. I've checked it with a caliper & I think it's 29.6 or 29.8 but the top of the tube isn't quite 100% round so hard to get an accurate measurement. I've ordered a 29.8 to 27.2 shim (I've got several 27.2 posts already), I'll post...

Seat post size Btwin Triban Trail (any other information appreciated too)

Hi all, I recently rescued this Decathlon Triban Trail 3 from a salvage yard (no way was I leaving the poor thing there). I've no idea what seat post size it takes & can't seem to find any information online, does anyone know? Thanks in advance. Also a follow up question, this one is 700c yet...

    Saracen X-ile / X-ess question

That's a beauty! And an X-Cell model too, I knew they were sold under another name that I'd forgotten. I had them same cranks on mine beck in the day, in fact I threw them away not long ago (doh!) ...although the pedal threads were stripped. Not sure exactly what I'm gonna do with mine yet but...

    Saracen X-ile / X-ess question

Thanks! Next question, are they all this tiny? I ask as I thought all these Xess & Xile frames are identical in terms of frame size/geometry and they just had different paint jobs.

    Saracen X-ile / X-ess question

Don't mind me, just answering my own question. I have never seen one elsewhere in this colour, even back in the day when I had mine. Must be quite rare. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/saracen-xess-2004-05-parts.432633/

    Saracen X-ile / X-ess question

I'm going mad. I recently picked up a bike from my childhood, a Saracen X-ile in silver with red decals and this got me thinking about the actual one I had as a kid, which I'm sure was dark grey, maybe with yellow decals? However, I've Googled it and I cannot find a picture of one in that...

1988 Raleigh Technium USA, original condition

Re: Admittedly I have put this up for sale before (with local collection only) and the only interest I got was people wanting it posted. I have posted bikes before and it's a bit of a PITA TBH, but I would like to find a new home for this, so I will see about getting a box then and update the...

    1988 Raleigh Technium (exceptional condition)

Anyone? I've seen frame & forks recently sell for £100. Guessing the components on this aren't worth a great deal??

    1988 Raleigh Technium (exceptional condition)

Hi all, I would be really interested to know what this is worth. I no longer require it and am looking to find a good home for it. It is a 1988 Raleigh Technium in exceptionally good condition, having had one previous owner who basically never used it. Quick specs as follows: - Thermally...
