Chesini Innovation frame 52cm CTT VGC

Here's a shameless plug for the frame that I currently have listed on eBay. It's in beautiful shape - refinished by Chesini before I bought it. Please have a look. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chesini-Inno ... 3622063946 Thanks! HW

My Trevor Jarvis Flying Gate + C-Record/CDA bits on eBay

My, it's been a while since I was last here. Life has moved on, and my interests with it (as well as my age! ). So my Flying Gate project is now on eBay as I'm not going to complete it  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trevor-Jarvi ... SwR9NdrfF9 The plan was to build it up with...

    Holdsworth Monsoon Frame Numbering

Re: Looks very nice indeed! Who knew that a Benelux RD would run 8 speed? Not me for sure! Really like the mix of old & new components - gives the old girl new life!

    eBay listing made me smile...

It's been a while since I dropped in here, but viewing this listing description https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Carl ... Sws5BaZ1Yu made me laugh. Takes 'bicycle porn' to a whole new level ! And I thought I had no life!

Painting dry tubular walls with liquid latex? Advice? Ideas?

Brilliant input here CaptnSlow. Appreciated! You've done an exceptional restoration job on that tub - literally as new when compared to its NOS mate. Here's hoping I can do something similar HW

    Custom paint and cycle cleaning

Re: No Quarter Bikes That looks like one of Trevor Jarvis' 10 specials that he produced for his Silver Jubilee. VERY nice. I have a more modest Jarvis and it is still a joy to behold. Can't wait to see what you can do with this one. Will it be No Quarter purple? HW

Painting dry tubular walls with liquid latex? Advice? Ideas?

Re: Re: Well that's a revelation! Do you mean a tube like this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aquaseal-mSEAL ... 289&sr=8-2 Seems to be certainly worth a go. I have 3 or 4 pairs of good quality tubs that might benefit from this. Thanks! HW

Painting dry tubular walls with liquid latex? Advice? Ideas?

Thanks for the suggestions and input. I think a controlled trial might be in order here to explore the various options mentioned in the thread. Watch this space! HW

Painting dry tubular walls with liquid latex? Advice? Ideas?

I've got a number of nice but old tubulars where the once-tan walls have dried, turned white where the latex has rubbed off and the fabric fibres can now be seen and felt. I'm wondering if a paint over with liquid latex would rejuvenate these and protect the sidewall fibres from wet and wear...

    My Old "HR Morris" bike.

Welcome :) Always good to hear about an older bike being rescued and revived. Decals are available for your frame; here for example http://www.hlloydcycles.com/pdf%20list% ... %20L-Z.pdf . I can see that your badge type is listed. Loads of threads on here about refinishing (both if to do it...

Replacement Campag Chain rings (and chainset advice)

+1 for Mike's choice of TA rings. I've quietly amassed a small battalion of these from eBay over the last few years for use on Campag chainsets with a 135 bcd like yours. They come up frequently, are beautifully made, can often be found reasonably priced and come in a huge variety of sizes. HW

C record 7 speed shifters missing part wanted

You probably know this, but these are hard to find. They are also tailored individually to specific rear derailleurs, being colour-coded and carrying printed numbers on them. The 8 speed versions are the hardest to find, then 7 and finally 6 being easiest (in my experience). I have been known to...

    Campag syncroshifter help!

Hi Chris the notches in the insert govern the number of shifts (I'm sure you knew that), so a new or altered insert is needed I'm afraid. I had wondered if the stamps you have were 7 and B, rather than 7 and 8, but apparently not. Sadly, not dual speed. HW

    Campag syncroshifter help!

You also need to know that the inserts are matched to a specific RD as well. Your insert seems to be the Chorus RD version. I haven't tried using alternative RDs to the one that Campagnolo recommend in their literature, but there are bound to be people on here who have ;) HW

    Campag syncroshifter help!

I like these too. Try this for info http://www.tearsforgears.com/search/label/syncro I suspect that you have a Black B7 insert (rather than metal - once its greasy who can tell the difference?). You'll need an 8 speed insert to make it work for 8 cogs. Or, you could take the risky route and...
