It's paint friendly, as far as I know, unlike the white vinegar that I tried first. Neither of them strip the paint, but the white vinegar faded it a tiny bit (and didn't work very well on the rust). I'm looking forward to seeing how it does on my rust-heap Muddy Fox Pathfinder. :)

Fear not; the paint is safe. :) I gave the BB a bath in Evaporust for 24 hours, and it's rust-free! Now to work out how to seal the frame properly. I don't fancy getting covered in Kurust!

I dunno if you can tell the difference, but things are looking better in the bb shell: It sat in white vinegar for two days, which did loosen up some of the rust, but there's still some to go, and I'm not sure if the lumps in the threads are actually rust. I might go over them with a Dremel...

fanx! I think I might've used t-cut at one point, as my car at the time was the same colour, but I'm not entirely sure. I certainly use turtle wax on it, mostly to try and keep the rust in check and protect the rest from dings. That stuff works wonders. :)
