    That is correct. and it looks like there was an updated part. the one I have is the one with the cutouts on the seat stay. It looks like there is a solid version, updated part? due to cracking?. thanks for the photos...

    Yeah but with a closer gear ratio it put less strain on the chain, which = less wear on the chain & cassette And shifts better. didn't know if may were mixing old with new...
