that is interesting. so the reader hub/casset width on a modern frame is the same as an early '90s frame? what about the bb? i have an old set of m900 cranks i'd love to use, i just didn't think they'd work. this is my first modern build.

i am currently planning a build which would see me using a 2015 frame and fork (steel, retro-ish) but which would incorporate a lot of retro elements. particularly, i am wondering about the drivetrain. would it be possible to use 1990-94 era cranks and hubs/cassette? or have things like spacing...

would you consider selling it without the fork? i am based in denmark.

i believe the 1990 was green and blue, and the 1991 turquoise to yellow.

Just got a beautiful set of these off ebay... and 3 of 4 work great. With the 4th, though, I just can't get any spring tension. I get that these are self-contained, and don't enter the frame's boss, but with the rest I am able to adjust tension with a cone wrench while tightening the brake...

1989's mountain lx became deore lx in 1990. it was far more similar to exage 500lx than it was to dx - it had the weaker cantis, the plastic shifters and the four finger brake levers. pretty crankset though.

what's a "job lot?" (i want the dx stuff if it's still available.)
