    MM aftermath

Just to add my voice, cheers all for a top weekend. I was one of the interlopers in the slightly larger tent, in the team with Sim & Heathy. Thanks for making us feel so welcome, it's something you should all be proud of. Friday BBQ was fantastic, and the rain put everyone on edge. Praise...

    The South Downs

Horses? So, back on track - my feeling is that the South Downs will now become the same as all the other national parks, in that it's about preserving what's there, controlling development, and maintaining/improving access & facilities where money is available. Will it affect the cycling...

    83 Mongoose Californian

California Dreaming There's only word to describe that - bloody gorgeous. One of the things I love about retrobike is that it inspires people to build or resurrect some amazing machinery. I reckon a Mongoose Californian will be my first 'from scratch' rebuild.

    Harry Quinn

Christ, there's no way I'm getting a respray - not sure where you got that idea from. The only issue with it is the decals are peeling & flaking pretty badly - this doesn't show up in the photos luckily. It won't be too long before I'll be riding a "HAPPY OUINN"

    Harry Quinn

Nice one CTK, it's always worth getting a decent photo of your bike, just so you can look back at the white seat and bar tape and say to yourself: "WTF was I thinking?" And since you say you've had yours resprayed - would you know where I could get some new decals? Looking at the picture...

    Harry Quinn

Harry! Marvellous - I'm not the only one using a 653 Harry for the daily commute! So this is how it feels like....when doves cry. I'm a bit ashamed that I know nothing about his history though - I purchased it off this Forum's very own Simod, so he should be able to tell you all about that...

Detective work - bit of help required.

Piccie of aforementioned traffic-dodger. It's a mysterious and powerful device. It's power is exceeded only by the fact that the brakes barely work. What I know about it: Purchased new from Berkshire Cycles in Winnersh, somewhere around 1982-1985. Original spec that you can see in the...

The 'Introduce Yourself Here' thread II

Hi All, I'm JC, joined up after digging the old BMX out of the shed. That's my current project, pics to go up over on the BMX thread. As for other bikes, I was the proud owner of a Raleigh Maverick back in the day. Didn't have the money for anything else, and it only had three gears, but...

    1983 Kuwahara Phase1 team

I noticed a load of those over on VintageBMX.com. First photo I saw looked like the frame had split. Presumably the frame designer eventually notched it up as 'an experimental phase'.

Detective work - bit of help required.

Hi all, Been pointed in this direction after sharing a few beers with Heathy and Simod at Sleepless. Hopefully the wealth of cumulative knowledge on here might be some assistance to me...I've dug out an Old School BMX from Ma & Pa's shed, and have got it running. It's currently being used for...
