    Canadians are weird

I grew up thinking this was normal: http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/downi ... rPath=news "...Soon afterwards confusion began to reign as nobody was quite sure where the ball had gone but by 9pm the ball had reappeared..."

    Solo Eroica Effort

Nice story, thanks for sharing. Just one little nit pick If you mean steering into the slide to correct a skid, that's not countersteering. Countersteering is what we all do all the time to make the bike lean (e.g. to go round a bend).

What is your average speed on a road bike?

Re: ride speeds Wise words indeed. But why is it the only people I pass are Granny on the way to the shops and the occasional mountain biker? :( Average speed about 13 to 14 mph. All my training routes are quite hilly. However, I calculated that on one particular circular route where the...

    Max heart rate

As a gentleman of mature years (AKA old git) 220 - my age works out to 158. I've hit 159 a couple of times recently when I felt as if I was working fairly hard but at about 90% of maximum effort. As has been mentioned, 220 - age is just a guide. The only way to know for sure is to do a stress...

    Chris Chance Custom Road

No, the saddle should have some green and purple and maybe some white. Just to pick up the subtle shades of the rest of the bike. I like it. It makes me smile. :)

    USERNAMES!!!

The first forum I posted on was a motorbike forum. I'd just passed my bike test and I'd just turned 50 (in that order) so saga lout seemed appropriate.

    Brewery biscuit bike....

It should appeal to those who like to filter through rush hour traffic - the jammy dodgers. Personally, I think they're crackers.

    Brewery biscuit bike....

Just hop on your bike and go for a ride. There's no need to be bitter. :)

    1985 Raleigh Road Ace

If I remember correctly: W = Worksop (when the Worksop factory closed, production was moved to Nottingham but they carried on using W). A = first two weeks of the year (so January) 6 = 1986. Only one digit for the year so it repeats every 10 years the rest is just a sequential build number I...

    Raleigh Super Sport 12

A man who is secure in his sexuality doesn't care what colour his bike is. :) Anyway, it'll give you an idea of prices.

    Raleigh Super Sport 12

Raleigh Super Sport Hi I found this thread in Google as I was looking for information about a Raleigh Super Sport I saw while I was idly browsing ebay. I'd be interested myself except I've just bought a Carlton for similar reasons you described: I used to have a Carlton when I was young...
