    Cassette Removal

No idea if this is good advice or bad advice i'm offering. But when I removed my 7 speed, I used a good old hammer and a flat blunt screwdriver to remove the cassete lockring and to put it back on again.

    Mavic Wheels

Cheers for replies, at least I have a rough idea of worth, wish I'd asked while auction was live, pushing it over the £50 marker with postage might just have put the other bidder off. And getting a pair for a fiver is pure robbery, you'll need some Horlicks to sleep i think

In pictures: The beauty of the bicycle

Saw the article the other day on the BBC website, unfortuantly it lost all credibilty with me for it not listing a Rockhopper

    Mavic Wheels

Hi all, saw some mavic wheels on fleabay the other week, and thought I'd be in with a good chance of getting them, wheels were in Newcastle so I could pick up and save on the postage, my thinking was my bid of £31 would win as no one would pay £47 inc the postage, wrong again, clearly I have...

    jimo746's feedback thread.

jimo746 feedback karma'd me a nice pair of green Canti hangers. Top man for doing so and a good site welcome for a newbie. When/if i eventually get round to colour-coordinating my bike, they will be karma'd on again again.

    C2C Diet recomendations ?

Thanks for all replies, was abit dis-heartened after seeing that 7 pints on the nightime was bad and that no sex for 6 weeks was good, although I like the emptying of weight theory :-) and I'm sure guinness will be a better alternative to san miguel ;-) On a more serious note it seems like...

Alreet Folks, have the C2C Whitehaven to Tynemouth coming up in April, thought I'd better start looking at good foods to take, will be camping so looking to make the most of my pannier space. Will obviously buy on route when possible but need basic supplies I can carry to get me thru to the...

Spot on with the LBS charge, £10 and the seatpost is out, took a vice and a blow torch but they got it out eventually. Frame and forks have been clear coated and are currently drying in the bathroom, CRC have dispatched my goodies today so hopefully they'll arrive tomorrow and I can start the...

    Blueing..Any American cousins in?

Hi, currently blueing my first bike build, frame and forks, didn't go the full hog on the bluing, stopped on about 6 coats, meant to use about 8-10 for a gun according to instructions, but very impresssed so far with the finish, hard for pics to do justice, but it looks very similar to the ti...

Rockhopper '95 First strip n build

Thanks for hint with BB shell, in hindsight I suppose the clue was in the shell, but i was measuring the BB and couldn't figure out anything anywhere near to 68 or 73 mm. Anyway, the frame BB 'shell' measured in at 73mm so I've ordered a new BB and sram chain from CRC. Chainset is IG but...

Rockhopper '95 First strip n build

Hi all, got the frame blued tonight, put 5 rubs of gun blue on it, 1 less than the forks but its about the same colour so left it be, will polish it some more tomorrow and see if it needs another rub. Got the BB out but the seat post is still seized, dont have a vice so may have to visit an...
